OUR HISTORY

Brighton Barber Institute (BBI) was established in 2017 by founders of Boardroom Salon, a leading nationwide brand in Men’s Grooming since 2004.

The new rules adopted by the Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation on December 14, 2011, and which became effective February 1, 2012, included, among other changes to barbering, a creation of a cross-over license enabling a licensed cosmetology operator to become a Class A Barber after attending an accredited barber school and completing the necessary hours and exams. Men’s grooming industry has exploded onto the market in the last decade and with it, a large market for licensed barbers. While we fulfill the need for training more barbers in today’s market, we recognized that there is a special need for a barber school dedicated to the specific requirements for licensed cosmetologists as they embark on their journey to further their tonsorial education and become highly marketable in their career.

BBI’s initial vision to create a school which provides exceptional training for licensed cosmetologists who seek further licensure in the field of barbering has grown to meet the need of all those who wish to begin their barbering career with addition of full Class A Barber program and the instructor program in 2019.
